Westinghouse LCM-22W3 22-inch Widescreen LCD Monitor user reviews

"I bought one of this monitor during the black friday sale for $167 bucks and I am impressed. I had been monitor shopping for a while and I jumped on it the second I saw the sale price tag of 167! Thats an insanely low price for a 22 incher.

I set this monitor up on my macbook and it looks great. I have to admit that my computer use is limited to internet browsing and playing World of Warcraft. I am much much happier now that I have this monitor.

As for the product itself.. it looks good physically and isnt that hard to use. I set up the resolution on 1280x720 and it looks great for surfing and playing World of Warcraft.

Point is.. u cannot beat the price tag of 167. hope they bring it back on sale so more people can buy it. You will not be dissapointed.

I am an amateur computer user and make no claims as to how this monitor will perform under more graphics testing for you pros etc! But for the everyday user IT ROCKS. "

"I'm continuing to become more and more of a fan for the new Westinghouse displays.

At the price point, for a basic PC monitor (or other DVI/VGA application) there are few monitors that will give you a great picture and a minimal cost. The only caveat I can even stretch to think of is the lack of other inputs that previously were available in older (but, to be fair, slightly more expensive) models.

Feature wise, the monitor is basic and focuses on doing its intended function well. The display is crisp and bright... and most important with an LCD, it is consistent. No bright and dark spots, good blacks, and reliable.

The lack of inputs for the price is negligible, as most looking for a PC monitor are going to use it as a PC monitor. I can't in good conscience dock a star for that.

Westinghouse continues to impress with their low-cost, high-performance monitors.

On a personal note, after cycling through LGs, Samsungs, and others, I'm very confident in backing this "lower cost" brand. This was my second Westinghouse (replacing an older one that became a bedroom "television") and eased me into my decision to jump on a 42" LCD HDTV from them. All three were less costly as the LG and Samsung alternatives that perform on an even (or worse) level. "

"I purchased this monitor specifically for use with the PS3 that my children received this Christmas. I just wanted to let anyone curiuos know that this monitor works fantastic with the Playstation 3! Just hook it up with a HDMI to DVI cable, such as this one,
HDMI to DVI (Male) Cable - 6-ft. Length (2M),
and set the display on the PS3 to 720P. The games and Blu-Ray movies look incredible on this monitor!

"This monitor has a good picture. So much desktop real estate improves productivity.

It has DVI and VGA inputs, which is good. The monitor automatically and correctly chooses the input if there is only one input signal. If both inputs have signals, it takes a painful 7 button presses to switch to the other input.

The monitor obediently switches to power save mode when instructed by the video source. But, it takes a relatively long time (5+ seconds) to come out of power save when the source is restored (eg after moving the mouse or pressing a key). My other monitor comes back in less than 2 seconds. "

"I recently purchased one of these, and I have to say, it blows away just about every other monitor I've ever owned, or even used! I first decided on westinghouse when I saw that my friend purchased an older westinghouse 22" widescreen model for himself during the previous holiday season. What a display that was! I think that's the first time I ever enjoyed watching someone ELSE play a World of Warcraft and CS! It left quite an impression on me, that an LCD could at once be so clear, so bright, and so fast! I'm glad to say that the lcm-22w3 lives up to that impression. IMHO, it does movies well, even black areas on dark scenes, though they be a bit hard to see at times. Colors are sharp and vibrant, and no problems with any game I've played, some OTHER manufacturers may say otherwise, but 5ms is more than fast enough for gaming. I was also blessed with a unit that has no dead pixels, so another plus for westinghouse, nothing like my old 17" Acer, which had 5. The only thing that really could be considered a 'con' for this monitor is the built in speaker set. They sound tiny, are not centered (use them and you'll see that one side is much louder than the other), and just plain sound cheap. Not worth taking points away, IMHO, because I've no need for them, and doubt many others (maybe corporate customers?) will either. All in all, a pretty decent bang-for-buck in my opinion. At least, if you use DVI. Sadly, I can't say much for the VGA input, as I've never used it. "
