ViewSonic VX2240W 22inchWidescreen LCD Monitor user reviews

"ViewSonic VX2240W's picture is very crisp and clear. Response time is really unnoticeable. Very easy to set up and the people at View Sonic were very helpful when I was looking for info about the product. They were the ones that sent me to price grabbers. I am very pleased with this purchase."

"Like many a recent ViewSonic, the VX2240w is a decent screen. But it’s not one that’s going to garner Gold Award status. The Samsung SM2232BW is better on quality, while the LG L226WTQ offers more value for money. All of which leaves the VX2240w with no real place to go. As a reserve choice, however, it won’t let you down."

"I bought ViewSonic VX2240W and the 19" version(vx1940) at the same time and they are both excellent monitors. The default factory setting are horrible. I configured them properly by looking at an old crt monitor on the side. Just set the color adjust to sRGB on the monitor then set the brightness on your video card to around 10% for a perfect image. Do not change gamma or contrast on the video card. One gripe I have with the monitor is the control buttons and the interface design but those are minor problems. "

"I purchased ViewSonic VX2240W in Jan 08 for much more than the going price. I have a basic 2003 computer and needed to purchase a graphics card to see 1680 x 1050. I use analog since my computer doesn't support digital. Works very well for me. I don't have any specific demands other than basic internet surfing. I had a View Sonic CRT that lasted for years trouble free. I don't have any issues about color rendition; all looks good. "

    "ViewSonic VX2240W
Pros: The response time is actually adjustable from within the monitors own controls. No dead pixels and color is reasonably produced.
Cons: It may just be my monitor, but the backlighting isn't even. There are definitely places that are darker than others, especially near the edges of the screen. Its not the biggest deal in the world, and mine may just be an anomaly. Also, its not height adjustable, nor does it rotate into portrait mode, but if you need those things you shouldn't be looking at this monitor anyway. "

"I want to make a note that ViewSonic VX2240W has crystal clarity even when using a non native resolution such as 1280x1024, for those of you with older computers that cannot support 1680x1050. On my newer XP computer, this monitor works flawlessly, very bright and clear. The dynamic contrast that everyone seems to mention, stays off if you want it off, or on if you want it on. No problem here. If you leave the dynamic contrast on, you just lower the contrast and brightness settings to compensate. All the settings stay where you set them. "
